Sports volunteers will contribute to the operation of the sports sector , in various positions : in the field , in the warming up area , in the sports equipment area and in the secretariat of the sports sector. Additionally, they will be involved in the timing and results services.

V olunteers will offer their services at access control points at the venues.

Volunteers will support the organization of events and presentations for various sectors.

Volunteers in this sector will take on various administrative duties at the different venues.

Volunteers in this sector will work as drivers , attendants or at the transportation office and will help in the timely and safe transport of athletes , judges and journalists .

Volunteers in this sector will staff the help desks at sports and non sports venues.

Volunteers in this sector will support First Aid Units at sports and non sports venues .

Volunteers offering their services in this area, will accompany the officials and the heads of the delegations. Knowledge of at least a foreign language ( not Greek ) is required.

Volunteers that will participate in the Opening Ceremony will offer their services in the opening performance . The volunteers that will participate in the bestowal of the medals will be active at the venues and their role includes accompanying the athletes and officials to the podium , carrying of the medals and flowers and the hoisting of the flags.

Volunteers familiar with technology and computers could serve in positions like timing and performance rating in the fields , computer network administration and user support. Those not familiar with technology can work as results printer operators as well as in various positions of the help desks.

Volunteers that will serve the spectators inside the sports venues will take on responsibilities , such as ushers and usherettes , and providing necessary information.

The volunteers of this sector will be occupied in the Main Press Center. They will support the work of journalists and will contribute to the smooth operation of the Center.

Volunteers in this sector and especially those with experience in hotels and in the tourism professions, in general, will have the opportunity to work in the Hotel and Booking areas and to provide administrative support and information on accommodation.
